Sarah has spent most of her life working with children in a range of different environments. With a degree in Child and Youth Study from Mount Saint Vincent University Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge in developmental needs of youth. Her degree gave her multiple opportunities for professional development in areas such as suicide training, CPR, mental health training, abuse and neglect training, and much more. She has been a coach both in the sport of competitive swimming for the Dartmouth Crusaders and canoe kayak for eight years. Just recently she has left behind her coaching career to pursue a more active role with youth in her community. Through her schooling placements Sarah has done work terms with youth with special needs at the Dartmouth Developmental Center, as a teacher at Sacred Heart Elementary and at the IWK Children’s Hospital in the child life department, helping patients with their developmental needs as well as coping strategies for families.
